Van Buskirk Companies is excited to highlight Brandt Williams, who joined the team earlier this year in Residential Land Development & Sales.
Originally from Rapid City, Brandt moved to Sioux Falls in 1999 and quickly found it to be the perfect place to call home. “It didn’t take long for it to feel like home,” he said. “I found great people, a strong sense of community, and plenty of opportunity, so it just made sense to put down roots here.”
With nearly 25 years of experience in real estate and construction — and as an actively licensed residential real estate agent — Brandt has built a career around his passion for development.
“I’ve always had a passion for construction and development. Watching ideas take shape into something tangible is really rewarding,” he said. “That interest naturally led me into both real estate and now, land development. It’s a space where I get to blend both sides of my experience.”
The opportunity to join Van Buskirk Companies “checked a lot of boxes,” he added. “They have a great reputation, so I was excited to work alongside them,” he said. “The company is so well-regarded, and the chance to be part of a team helping shape new neighborhoods and communities really stood out to me.”
As part of the land development team, Brandt promotes and sells residential lots to homebuyers, realtors, and builders while developing sales strategies and exploring new growth opportunities.
“Brandt brings a wealth of experience as a real estate broker, business owner, and commercial construction recruiter,” said Jolene Smith, director of people and culture. “We’re excited to have him on the team and see a lot of potential for growth in this role.”
Since joining Van Buskirk, Brandt has enjoyed working closely with contractors and builders to guide deals and ensure a smooth process — a mix of time in the field and detailed work behind the scenes.
“The response from the market has been awesome,” he said. “I’ve been welcomed with open arms from clients, and it’s been great connecting with folks in this new capacity.”
He’s also had plenty of exciting opportunities to share, including Van Buskirk’s new Mapleton Highlands neighborhood in northeast Sioux Falls, adjacent to Mapleton Golf Club, and the River Park neighborhood in Brandon.
“Both have a lot to offer builders looking to get into great communities, and I’m happy to connect with anyone looking to learn more. They’re two developments with fantastic potential,” he said.
“We’ve also got a few other things in the pipeline that could be a lot of fun — or at the very least, keep me from ever having a slow day again!”
Grateful for the chance to take on a new challenge, Brandt said joining Van Buskirk has reaffirmed what drew him to the company in the first place.
